Experiments!
Bubble Bomb What you need
  • Vinegar;
  • Bicarbonate of soda;
  • Zip-lock plastic bag;
  • Kitchen paper;
  • Bowl.
Instructions
  1. First of all, make sure you have adult supervision! This experiment can be messy, so make sure to do it over a sink or safe bowl. You could also do it outside if you don't want any mess! The first step is to pour the vinegar into a microwavable bowl and heat it for a couple of minutes.
  2. Take the bicarbonate of soda and put some on some kitchen paper. Wrap the kitchen paper around the soda into a ball.
  3. Pour the warm vinegar into the zip-lock plastic bag, carefully.
  4. Drop the bicarbonate of soda wrapped in kitchen paper into the plastic bag and quickly zip the bag up and watch.
  5. A reaction will occur in the plastic bag, causing it to expand with gas and become full of bubbles! The bag will expand so much that it will eventually explode, becoming your very own bubble bomb!
How does it Work?

The Bubble Bomb is caused by the reaction between the vinegar (an acid) and the bicarbonate of soda (a base). The reaction between the two gives off the gas Carbon Dioxide which is visible as the bubbles in the bomb! The production of Carbon Dioxide expands the plastic bag until it eventually explodes, or is released by opening the bag.
